Amanda's Piercing Trouble-Shooting Salt Soak
Healing a piercing can be a roller coaster sometimes. When your piercing stays a little spicy too long, try Amanda's Trouble-Shooting Salt Soak to support a (hopefully) quick positive response. Amanda has shared her recipe below.

Amanda's Piercing Trouble-Shooting Salt Soak
Supplies Needed:

1 cup of distilled water

1/4 Tablespoon of natural, non-iodized salt

2-3 non-woven gauze pads

Instructions:

Heat 1 cup of distilled water to boil. (use distilled water to ensure that any impurities, chemicals or additives have been removed from the water)

Remove from heat and add 1/4 tablespoon of nature, non-iodized salt. Allow to dissolve and cool to tolerable temperature.

Dip and apply non-woven gauze pad to the front and back of the piercing. Press and hold using firm, yet gentle pressure (focused on any raised tissue or bumps and allow to saturate for 2-5 minutes.

Rince with cool running water for a minimum of 30 seconds

Dry using a dry non-woven gauze pad, or a dry q-tip until completely dry.

Using sterile saline solution (like NeilMed healing mist)

Repeat every other night for 1-2 weeks
